My Story

I was born in the exciting metropolis of Munster, Indiana, population 4,753. I am the youngest of three boys from a middle-class suburban family. Our family moved quite a bit as my Dad found better jobs; Chicago, Detroit and Boston.

My Mom was very talented at making our homes look like they were out of the pages of ‘Better Homes & Gardens’ magazine. (6 homes to be exact) They were always homey, stylish and comfortable. When she was designing a room, sometimes she would ask my opinion, which I thought was weird since I was a young boy who couldn’t even make a decision on what shirt to wear. But by asking my opinion, she made me notice home design aesthetics and gave me confidence that I had some good ideas.
